Taxi group sues Baker, other officials over new ‘Uber law’

A Boston taxi industry group has sued several state officials in federal court, including Governor Charlie D. Baker, claiming that a law signed by Baker last month establishing rules for app-based transportation services like Uber is unconstitutional.

The filing is the latest salvo in the taxi industry’s fight against the rise of its popular digital-age competition, which allows passengers to summon a ride from private car services with the touch of a button.
