He was conscious and alert when medical personnel reached him.

According to MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo, the man was conscious and alert when transported by ambulance from the station.
The incident briefly caused minor delays in both directions on the Red Line, but regular service resumed shortly thereafter.
