3 rescued after boat runs aground in Newburyport
Three people were rescued Friday morning after their boat ran aground near the mouth of the Merrimack River in Newburyport. The Coast Guard said it was notified around 7:30 a.m. that the 32-foot vessel ran aground and that two of the three people onboard sustained lacerations and possible fractures in the incident. A Coast Guard rescue boat recovered all three people and they were transported by local EMS to an area hospital for treatment.
