Police: 22 phones simultaneously stolen by mob of teens at Hingham Apple store

Hingham police are investigating an “organized retail theft incident” that ended with 22 phones stolen from an Apple store Monday, the department said in a statement posted to Facebook.

At around 5:40 p.m., police said eight to 10 suspects simultaneously stole 22 phones from the displays at the Apple Store in the Derby Street Shoppes, and then ran out. The suspects, described as teens wearing hoods, fled in both a white car and by running across the parking lot toward the Kohl’s, according to police.

The store estimates over $14,000 in goods were stolen.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 781-741-1443.
