Homework is banned at this Massachusetts school
Another group of kids are smiling big as they begin the school year.
That’s because their after-school hours will be free of pencils and books.
Last month, Texas teacher Brandy Young banned homework from her second grade classroom, writing this letter to parents:

The letter went viral.
Now a Massachusetts elementary school is banning homework for all students, reports ABC News.
Students at Kelly Elementary School in Holyoke will not be assigned homework this year. The school serves more than 550 kids in kindergarten through eighth grade.
“We want kids to go home tired; we want their brains to be tired,” Jackie Glasheen, principal of the school, told ABC News.
Glasheen shared this hope for her students: “We want them to engage with their families, talk about their school days and go to bed.”
