Watch: Coast Guard rescues injured lobsterman off of Cape Cod

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued an injured lobsterman Tuesday morning, 135 nautical miles east of Cape Cod.

The Coast Guard said it was contacted by the crew aboard the lobster boat, Eagle, around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday requesting help for a crewmember who had “accidentally been impaled.”

Since the boat was not due back to shore until the next day, a Coast Guard launched a helicopter, which picked up the injured 41-year-old around 1:30 p.m. and took him to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.

The Coast Guard posted a video of the rescue to Facebook.
