Six-alarm fire breaks out in Southbridge

A six-alarm fire broke out in a downtown Southbridge building Sunday, The Boston Globe reported.The fire started at 318 Main St. around 2 p.m. Up to four businesses were impacted and 15 people displaced by the blaze, Fire Chief Mark DiFronzo told reporters. Several people were rescued but no serious injuries were reported, according to the Globe. One firefighter was taken to a hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion; he has since been released.By 6 p.m., 98 percent of the fire was contained, DiFronzo said. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation.Read the full Globe story here.
