Death of man who drowned in Bridgewater pool was accidental, police say
A man who drowned in a Bridgewater swimming pool
over the weekend died as the result of an accident, according to police.
The 73-year-old man was pulled from a family swimming pool unresponsive Sunday afternoon, police said. He was pronounced dead the following day at a Boston hospital.
The state medical examiner determined that the man died from blunt trauma to the back of his neck, which was ruled an accident, according to police.
The death was one of two drownings in Bridgewater that weekend. Police said a 56-year-old man also drowned while swimming in a pool at his apartment complex.
