Driver dies, passenger seriously injured in West Roxbury crash
A crash on Enneking Parkway in West Roxbury Tuesday evening left one man dead and his passenger seriously injured, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Around 5:39 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash at the entrance to Stony Brook Reservation. A 2000 Chevrolet pickup had veered off the road and hit a tree, police said.
The vehicle’s driver, a 44-year-old Dedham man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. His passenger, a 46-year-old Roslindale man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital by emergency personnel.
The identities of both occupants has not yet been released.
The Suffolk District Attorney’s office said the preliminary investigation indicates that the driver lost control of his truck during a turn.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The DA’s office said investigators are looking into whether “weather-related road conditions” contributed to the crash.
