“There has been a steady flow, which we are happy for,” Dave Procopio, a State Police spokesman, told The Globe. “But we want the public to continue calling the tip line, with a special focus … on any males on whom they may have noticed potential injuries such as scratches, bruises, cuts, gouge marks etc., marks that would have been fresh earlier this week.”

Officials told The Globe they think Marcotte’s killer might have those injuries because she fought with him in the woods before she was killed.

Procopio also told people to report any vehicles they might have seen moving or parked on Brooks Station Road in Princeton between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, which is when the 27-year-old Boston University graduate was killed.

Marcotte had been visiting her mother in Princeton for a few days when she went jogging Sunday afternoon. Her body was found in the woods about a half-mile from her mother’s home later that night. Officials are trying to determine if she was sexually assaulted, but said her body had been burned.
