The vigil was held at the First Congregational Church of Princeton.

“Tonight definitely showed how everyone is here for each other,” Amanda Jonaitis told the Globe.

Marcotte, 27, a Boston University graduate, was visiting her mother when she went for a jog Sunday afternoon and didn’t return. Her body was found in the woods about a half-mile from her mother’s house.

Scott Mellecker Jr., 22, a town resident, said he often sees people walking, biking, and jogging alone.
