19-year-old fatally crashes in New Hampshire after evading police
A 19-year-old man died Monday after he refused to pull over for New Hampshire State Police, sped away, and crashed into a tree, officials said.
Jake Davison, 19, of Tamworth, New Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene, the New Hampshire’s Troopers Associate said in a statement. State Police Sergeant Joseph Shackford tried to pull Davison over on Route 25 in Tamworth at around 10:40 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation, the statement said.
Davis drove away quickly and sparked a chase. Police said he turned onto Route 113, driving recklessly and turning off his headlights at times. Shackford eventually discontinued his chase after not finding Davison.
Davison lost control of his vehicle on Foss Flats Road, left the road, and crashed into a tree, officials believe.
A portion of the road was closed as teams investigated the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
