Yoga Reaches Out, a nonprofit that raises money for children’s organizations through yoga events, presented Boston Children’s Hospital with a check for more than $1 million this week. The funds were raised over the last six years by the New England chapter of the nonprofit  through hosting “yogathons.” More than 1,000 people attended the 2016 yogathon held at the Gillette Stadium practice facility in May. Each attendee raised at least $250 in support of Boston Children’s Hospital. The money donated by Yoga Reaches Out has gone towards supporting research at Boston Children’s, as well as the creation of the Yoga Reaches Out Wellness Center at the hospital’s Hale Center for Families. The center provides programs like massage, yoga, and meditation to parents and caregivers of children being treated at the hospital.
