Police: 4 loaded guns stolen during violent home invasion
Four loaded handguns were stolen during a violent home invasion early Thursday in West Yarmouth, according to authorities.
Yarmouth police said three men wearing bandanas over their faces broke into the home on Monroe Lane, beat the resident and his girlfriend, and stole the guns and a large amount of cash from safes in the residence. Police learned of the incident when the victims fled their home and came upon two officers on patrol in the area around 2:30 a.m.
Officers responding to the scene found the suspects had fled the area. Neither the man or his girlfriend required medical treatment, according to police.
Police described the suspects as being in their late teens to mid-20s. All three men spoke Spanish and were about 6-feet tall and of slender build, police said.
Police said the stolen guns were licensed to the victim.
Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police department or Yarmouth police at 508 775-0445.
