The 73-passenger “Valkyrie” provides service from Squantum Point Park at Marina Bay to Rowes Wharf in downtown Boston, as well as Boston Harbor’s Spectacle Island, according to a statement from the city of Quincy. The trial program is set to run through October as a partnership between Quincy, the state, and the town of Winthrop, which owns the boat.

Riders are encouraged to buy tickets online, but can also purchase tickets on board, officials said. Fares are $8.50 one way, $6.50 for seniors and free for children 10 and under who are accompanied by an adult. A commuter package, which includes 40 trips, costs $290.
