State Sen. Ken Donnelly admitted to MGH, expected to undergo surgery

State Sen. Ken Donnelly was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital Sunday evening and is expected to undergo surgery within 48 hours, according to a post on the Arlington Democrat and former firefighter’s Facebook page.

Cindy Friedman, Donnelly’s chief of staff, said she did not have any further information Sunday night.

“We’re all rooting for the best for him. He deserves all our good wishes and prayers,” she said in an email.

Lawmakers were hurtling toward the end of the two-year formal legislative session at the State House late Sunday night, awaiting and acting on Senate-House compromises on several pieces of legislation.
