South End crash involving police cruiser injures 1 officer, 1 civilian
A Boston police officer and one civilian were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a crash in the South End sent the officer’s cruiser into a building, resulting in minor injuries for both drivers, according to police.
Police received a report of a crash involving a police cruiser on Harrison Avenue around 5 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers learned that a vehicle had struck a police cruiser in the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Northampton Street, pushing the cruiser into a building on the corner, police said.
The vehicle’s driver, who had remained at the scene, told police that he had stopped at a two-way stop before driving into the intersection and hitting the cruiser.
The driver received a citation for failing to yield the right of way to a vehicle in the intersection, police said.
