Police: Knife-wielding suspect arrested after charging officer
A Boston man was arrested Thursday night after he allegedly threatened several people with a knife and charged a police sergeant responding to the scene.
Michael Garrick, 20, has been charged with three counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon and making threats, according to Boston police.
Police said a sergeant responded to a report that a man was threatening women and security officers with a knife near the TD Garden.
“As the sergeant exited his cruiser, the suspect charged at him, screaming that he would kill the officer,” police said in a statement. “The sergeant quickly drew his department issued firearm and ordered the suspect to drop the knife.”
Garrick complied and was taken into custody, according to police.
