Officials investigating alleged hate speech from Wellesley High School students

Police and public school officials in Wellesley are investigating reports of racially charged hate speech by high school students, according to The Boston Globe.

Authorities say the allegations involve students at Wellesley High School posting hate speech on social media. The two institutions are investigating how many students were involved, and who they are, police told the Globe.

“We will work diligently to ensure that our schools continue to be safe and productive learning environments for ALL students,” David Lussier, the school district’s superintendent, and Jamie Chisum, Wellesley High School’s principal, said in a statement obtained by The Swellesley Report. “As always, we will work with our community partners in the days ahead to meet this charge.”
