A 6-year-old boy was killed after he was ejected from a vehicle during a crash in Methuen Tuesday morning, according to police.

The boy was a passenger in a Honda Civic that was driving on East Brook Place around 7:25 a.m., Methuen police said.

A van struck the Civic’s driver’s side, causing it to spin out of control and the boy was ejected, police said. The van continued driving, crashing through a fence and into the wall of the Meeting House Hill Cemetery.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, investigators said. The 34-year-old Lawrence woman who was driving the Civic was taken to the hospital. The driver of the van was not injured.
