Police identify victim in fatal Dorchester shooting
A 28-year-old man fatally shot in Dorchester on July 7 has been identified by Boston police.Brandon Smith, of Dorchester, was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds after police responded to the area of 68 Hancock Street in Dorchester around 11:36 p.m. that night for reports of persons shot, according to police.A second victim, a woman said to be in her 50s, also was found at the scene with what police described as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.Smith succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
No arrests had been made as of Monday evening.
