5-year-old boy hit by a car in Natick

A 5-year-old boy was struck by a car in Natick Wednesday morning, according to a statement by Natick police.

The boy was transported to Boston Children’s Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Authorities said the incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. when a 38-year-old woman driving a Kia Rondo on Pond Street abruptly applied her brakes when the vehicle in front of her stopped to let pedestrians cross in a crosswalk. The woman veered right, driving off the road, and jumping the curb where she hit the boy at a low speed, police said.

No charges have been filed against the woman, but the incident remains under investigation, according to police.
