Communities reach out to support local police following Dallas shootings
Gifts of food and messages of support and appreciation poured in to police departments around New England Friday following the fatal shooting of five police officers in Dallas, Texas.
The law enforcement agencies, in turn, asked the community to keep Dallas police in their thoughts and prayers.

Some departments, like the Bangor Police Department, asked those compelled to give something, to give to the Dallas Police Department.
“The dead and injured officers have families and kids,” the department wrote. “We do to, but they need you more right now. Much more.”
