Boston’s Fourth of July celebration on the Esplanade

will be filled with performances from nationally known superstars and the Boston Pops, fireworks that light up the skyline, and hundreds of thousands of patriotic spectators.

But the traffic, street closures, and crowds may not be everyone’s idea of fun.

Don’t worry, you can still catch all the action from the comfort of your own home. Here’s how:

If you’re watching on TV…

Tune into Channel 4. CBS is featuring a live special broadcast from the Esplanade. You can watch locally on WBZ-TV from 8-9 p.m., and then nationally on CBS with Nancy O’Dell, co-host of Entertainment Tonight, from 9-11 p.m.

If you’re watching online…

You can watch live starting at 8 p.m. on CBSBoston.com or download the CBS All Access app.

If you just want to listen to the performances…

You can turn your radio station to WBZ NewsRadio 1030 or Mix 104.1.

If you really want to go in person, but can’t stand crowds…

The Boston Pops hold a rehearsal concert at 8:30 p.m., July 3, at the Hatch Shell. There is usually about 50,000 people—so it’s smaller than the main event—but the downside is there are no fireworks.
