Police said a 21-year-old woman reported to Braintree police that she was slapped from behind by a man on June 23. The suspect matched a description given by two women also followed in the area around that week.
While reviewing the incident, which she reported to police on Tuesday, officers identified two similar incidents in department logs that occurred on May 29 and June 7, according to police.
“We take these incidents very seriously and will continue our increased patrols of the East Braintree neighborhoods as we seek to identify and apprehend this individual,” Police chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement. “These incidents do not all appear to originate from Watson Park, but from streets in and around the area. Residents are encouraged to call 911 if they see something or someone suspicious.”
A 17-year-old woman told police on May 29 she was grabbed from behind while walking on Quincy Avenue around 8:30 p.m. A 47-year-old woman then reported that on June 7 she was followed by a man, also around 8:30 p.m., while walking in her East Braintree neighborhood. She told police she ran from him and threatened to call the police.
