Police investigating reports of suspicious man following women in Braintree
Police are increasing the presence of uniformed and plain clothes officers in a Braintree park after two women reported being followed by a suspicious man.
Braintree police said in a statement that a 33-year-old woman told officers she was in Watson Park around 6:30 p.m. on June 23 with her young son when she noticed a man carrying a white iPhone and a basketball who followed her home.
According to police, the man allegedly walked by her house “a few times” and walked up her driveway, but left when he heard a dog barking. There was no verbal or physical contact between the man and the woman, according to police.
Police said the woman described the man as “a white male with neatly cut hair, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, clean shaven, wearing a white T-shirt and black basketball type shorts and white sneakers.”
A 29-year-old woman reported a similar incident on June 25 around 11 p.m., according to police. The woman told officers she was walking on Arborway Drive near Argyle Road when a man wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts came up behind her and grabbed her before running off.
Police said the man, described as a “white male between the ages of 18 and 22,” was last seen on Arthur Street.
