Police: Motorcyclist killed by drunk truck driver in Rehoboth

A 63-year-old Seekonk man on a motorcycle was killed Saturday afternoon, after he was hit head-on by a truck driver in Rehoboth, who police say was under the influence at the time of the crash.

Rehoboth police say emergency crews responded to the crash at 2:38 p.m. and found the motorcyclist lying “unresponsive and severely injured” in the southbound lane on Agricultural Avenue, near Rocky Hill Road. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

After an initial investigation by police, the driver of the truck, 40-year-old Jeffery H. Fisk Jr., of Rehoboth, was arrested Saturday on charges of homicide by motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor.

Police say Fisk was driving his 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck southwest on Agricultural Avenue when he struck the 2015 Suzuki motorcycle, which was headed in the opposite direction.

Fisk was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for treatment following the crash, and then was taken into custody by Rehoboth police. He is being held on $100,040.00 cash bill, according to police, and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Taunton District Court.

The crash remains under investigation by local and state police, as well as the Bristol District Attorney’s office and the state medical examiner.
