Police rescue naked swimmer in Mystic Lake
A naked man was rescued from Mystic Lake Wednesday after trying to swim while allegedly under the influence of drugs, according to Arlington police.
Around 10:35 a.m., police responded to a call about a swimmer in distress. Police said a responding officer could hear the man screaming for help in the middle of the lake, and the Arlington Fire Department then deployed a life boat to reach him.
The 20-year-old Arlington man resisted the officers sent to rescue him, and once rescued, the man had to be physically restrained to keep him from jumping out of the boat, according to police.
The man was taken to a Boston hospital. Police said one officer sustained a knee injury during the rescue effort and will be evaluated.
