Police: Man tried to abduct teen from Framingham mall
A Texas man was arrested Monday evening after he allegedly tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl outside a Framingham mall, according to authorities.

Robert Toney
Robert Toney, 25, approached the girl around 5 p.m. in his car outside the Olive Garden at the Shoppers World Plaza and offered her money for sex, according to police.
Framingham Police Lieutenant Harry Wareham said when she refused, Toney followed her in his vehicle, telling her to get into the car. She again refused and he drove off in the cream-colored car with Texas plates, police said.
A description of the vehicle was sent out, and the car was stopped in Sherborn a short while later, Wareham said. Toney was arrested by Framingham police and charged with enticement of a person under 16 and assault and battery, according to authorities.
Toney, originally from Austin, Texas, was in the process of moving to Providence, Rhode Island, according to police.
He was arraigned Tuesday in Framingham District Court and ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Friday, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.
Attorney information for Toney was not immediately available.
