New Hampshire police fatally shoot man after pursuit in Peterborough
Authorities are investigating after police shot and killed a man Tuesday after a pursuit on Route 136 in Peterborough, New Hampshire.
According to New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster, the incident occurred at approximately 10:23 a.m. Following a “brief police pursuit,” Foster said the man, who has not been identified, was fatally wounded during a confrontation with police.
The New Hampshire Union Leader reported that “a body could be seen lying face down in the road,” which was closed around 10:30 a.m.
No police were physically injured during the incident, according to Foster.
News footage shot from a Fox 25 helicopter showed investigators on the scene and what appeared to be a gun on the side of the road.
