An early morning drive ended in an ugly crash Thursday due to multiple deer in the road on I-495, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Driving southbound, just south of the I-93 intersection, police said the driver swerved to avoid a deer in the travel lane, but ended up striking another deer and then rolling over off the road.

A driver rolled over his car after swerving to avoid a deer, police said June 16.

Despite doing heavy damage to their sedan, the driver was got away with non-life-threatening injuries and “should be OK,” according to state police.

“It is a good reminder to all motorists, that especially around dawn or dusk, deer are out and about,” police said Thursday, adding that drivers should “keep a high visual horizon, for anything that should not be on the roadway.”
