One dead after Mass. Pike crash
A man died Thursday after being ejected from a car that crashed on the Mass. Pike east in Blandford, according to state police.
Around 1:40 p.m., police said a 36-year-old woman from Agawam and her passenger, a 35-year-old man from Ludlow, drifted into a median and then struck a message board, ejecting both people from the car.
The male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was transported to Baystate Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated. Both the woman and passenger were not wearing seat belts, according to police.
