Federal campus safety data says Brown University and the University of Connecticut had the most reports of rape on campus in 2014, according to The Boston Globe.

Nearly 100 colleges and universities had at least 10 reports of rape in 2014, according to data. Brown and UConn had 43 cases each. Victim advocates say the data means more students are reporting sexual assaults. The totals reflect reports of rape, not the number of rape cases prosecuted in court.

‘‘The fact that 43 incidents were reported indicates that we are building trust among our campus community members in how the university responds to reported incidents of sexual and gender-based violence,’’ Brown spokesman Brian E. Clark told the Globe.
