Fall River teen killed in rollover crash on her way to prom
An 18-year-old Fall River student was killed in a rollover crash Friday on her way to her high school prom.
Hannah Raposo was driving southbound on Route 24, headed to B.M.C. Durfee High School, when she lost control of her Ford Explorer Sport Trac around 6 p.m., according to state police and the Bristol District Attorney’s office.
Authorities said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The DA’s office said the vehicle flipped several times near Exit 4 and Raposo was thrown from the truck. She was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
An 18-year-old male passenger in the truck, also from Fall River, was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and is in stable condition, according to police.
State police are investigating the cause of the crash.
