Funeral arrangements announced for slain Auburn officer

Auburn Police officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. was shot and killed on Sunday.
The funeral arrangements for Auburn officer Ronald Tarentino, who was fatally shot during a traffic stop Sunday, have been announced.
A wake will be held Thursday, May 26, from 2 to 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church at 10 H Putnam Road Extension in Charlton, according to a Facebook post by Auburn police. Tarentino’s funeral will be held on Friday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, with a burial to follow at Greenville Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rochdale section of Leicester.
Tarentino, 42, was killed in the line of duty around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say Jorge Zambrano, 35, who was killed later Sunday in a shootout with police, was responsible for Tarentino’s death.
Tarentino leaves behind a wife and three children. A memorial fund has been set up to help support his family.
