Mayor Walsh wants everyone to know he’s not a Justin Bieber fan

The Mayor threw some shade at the Canadian pop star during a Twitter Q&A

Mayor Marty Walsh roasted pop star/barefoot Boston Common wanderer Justin Bieber during a Twitter Q&A Wednesday.

When asked by Twitter user Rob Skeller what Walsh considered Boston’s “song of the summer,” the Mayor laid down the hammer.

Walsh’s Q&A provided more entertainment from there, as he indulged invitations from Bostonians to dance…

…and offered sympathetic words to a man experiencing some marital troubles.

Walsh’s answers weren’t all jokes, though. He responded to questions about bike infrastructure, public art, and in one instance, whether he would feel comfortable with a transgender person sharing a public restroom with his daughter.

Wednesday’s Bieber smackdown is not the first time Mayor Walsh has weighed in on a teenage heartthrob during a Q&A. In 2015, Walsh said he was “devastated” by the breakup of boy band One Direction.

We’ll have to wait until next Q&A to find out what Walsh thinks about 5 Seconds of Summer.
