Slavin’s daughter, 58-year-old Kathleen Slavin, who was also stabbed during the attack, is recovering and expected to survive, reports The Boston Globe.
Arthur DaRosa crashed his car outside the Slavin home on May 10 before rushing inside and stabbing the women. Then he drove to Silver City Galleria Mall, where he entered a Bertucci’s restaurant and killed George Heath, a New Bedford teacher, before he was shot to death by Plymouth County Deputy Sheriff James Creed.
Slavin’s children said their mother was a very religious woman who would have forgiven DaRosa for taking her life. The funeral Mass will take place at Holy Family parish in Taunton, where she was a long-time member. A burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
