He graduated from St. John’s Prep in Danvers last year. The school flew its flag at half mast this week and also hosted a vigil Tuesday night to honor Shaw.
Shaw leaves behind his parents and a brother and sister. Shaw’s family and friends have set up a website for memorials.
Ed Hardiman, the headmaster at St. John’s Prep, told WHDH that Shaw’s donated organs saved eight people. The Department of Health said there are no other known meningitis cases at Northeastern at this time, according to WHDH.
St. John’s Prep posted this painting on Facebook, which was created by Shaw, writing, “We will miss this amazing young man.”
