A dog that spent the past month living near a Worcester highway and evading police was caught Sunday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.

“Every dog has his day, or in this case, had her month on the run in Worcester,” police said in a Facebook post.

Police had received multiple calls from drivers reporting that they had seen the dog near the Lincoln and Burncoat streets area of I-290. While troopers responded to the calls and searched the area multiple times, they were unable to locate her, and set a trap in the area.

On Sunday morning, troopers returned to the trap and found the elusive dog inside. The Worcester Police Department’s animal control division retrieved her, and will hold her until she is claimed by her owner.
