Man survives being struck by train at Broadway Station
A man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after a Red Line train struck him at Broadway Station, according to MBTA police.
Just after 2:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a person possibly struck by a train. At the scene, police found a 55-year-old man had been struck while trespassing on the outbound track. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment for injuries that were deemed serious, but not life-threatening, police said.
The incident caused delays on the Red Line and led the MBTA to replace trains between Park Street and JFK/UMass stations with shuttle buses. The service resumed around 4:15 p.m.
