Mayor Marty Walsh is being treated for kidney stones, his spokesperson Laura Oggeri said Saturday.

Oggeri told Boston.com that the mayor is “resting at home.”

Walsh had previously suffered from a kidney stones in October 2014 and was treated at Mass General, the Globe reports.

Kidney stones are mineral deposits that form inside the organs, according to the Mayo Clinic. Depending on the size of the stones, they can be “passed” by drinking lots of water and taking pain medication to help with the discomfort. Larger stones can require more intensive treatments including surgery.
