Woman stabbed after knocking on neighbor’s door to make noise complaint
A Townsend woman was stabbed early Friday morning when she knocked on a neighbor’s door to ask the noise be kept down.
Police said the suspect stabbed the 65-year-old three times before going back into his apartment.
Officers responded to the scene around 12:30 a.m. Friday and the victim was transported to UMass Memorial in Worcester, where she was last reported to be in stable condition.
Police arrested 34-year-old Christopher Polakowski and charged him with assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and attempted murder. He is being held on $50,000 cash bail until his arraignment on Friday in Ayer District Court.
