According to a WPRI.com report, students at Hopewell Elementary School are in a “secure and hold” status during the search, which means no one is allowed to enter or exit the school. Taunton Superintendent Julie Hackett sent a message to parents explaining the situation, according to the report.

Bristol Community College has asked students to shelter in place while police search.
