Multiple delays on MBTA commuter rail
The MBTA reported multiple commuter rail delays Thursday morning.
South of the city, trains on the Franklin, Stoughton, and Kingston lines reported inbound delays during the morning commute for reasons ranging from train traffic to mechanical problems.

Mechanical issues on the Franklin line also delayed outbound travel.

A train to Providence from South Station was delayed by mechanical issues that the commuter rail blamed on Amtrak. That caused a 25- to 30-minute delay for inbound travel.

A signal problem north of Boston caused a 10-15 minute delay on the Haverhill train earlier in the morning, the T reported.

Police activity also delayed an earlier train into the city from Lowell.
