State Police say damage to car not caused by gunshot
Massachusetts State Police determined that damage caused to a driver’s rear car window was not caused by a gunshot.
A woman was driving westbound near the Auburn Mall/Turnpike Overpass around 7:25 a.m. when she heard something hit her back window, investigators said. The window had a hole in it, with spider-cracked shattered glass around it.
Earlier in the morning, State Police said they were not sure whether someone fired at the car, or if a piece of debris came off the roadway or a bridge. They have since determined that the damage was not consistent with that caused by a bullet.
