Middle school bus driver charged with drunken driving
STURBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — A middle school bus driver in Sturbridge has been charged with drunken driving, after police say she drove the bus to the school while under the influence.
Police say no children were on board when 49-year-old Allison Silvestri, of Sturbridge, drove the bus to Tantasqua Junior High School on Friday afternoon.
They say the police and fire departments were called to the school around 2 p.m. for a medical issue. Police say there was not a medical emergency, and they arrested Silvestri.
A new driver was assigned to drive the bus.
Silvestri was being held Friday pending bail and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Dudley District Court. A current telephone listing for Silvestri could not be found.
