Authorities investigating hiker’s death on trail
RANDOLPH, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire Fish and Game officers are investigating the death of a hiker on the Castle Ravine Trail between two mountains in Randolph.
WMUR-TV reports hikers found the man’s frozen body near the tree line Sunday morning. He was later identified as 54-year-old Timothy Hallock of Orient, New York.
Conservation officer volunteers responded to the scene to assist in the recovery. Investigators arrived at around 6 p.m. and didn’t immediately find anything to indicate the death was suspicious. The man’s body was brought down the mountain at around 2:30 a.m. Monday. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
