New York man found guilty in 2011 murder of Ipswich restaurant owner
More than four years after an Ipswich restaurant owner was killed in a robbery, a jury has found a New York man guilty in his death, according to the Essex District Attorney’s office.
Cheng Sun, 51, of the Bronx, was found guilty Thursday of first-degree murder, stealing by confinement, and assault to rob a person over 60 years old, authorities said.
The victim, Shui Keung “Tony’’ Woo, the owner of Majestic Dragon, was found beaten and stabbed to death in the restaurant in 2011, according to the DA’s office.
Sun is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday. His co-defendant, Sifa Lee, 38, of Quincy, will face the same charges at a March trial in Salem Superior Court, authorities said.
