Cambridge officer cited for hit-and-run crash that injured bicyclist

A Cambridge police officer has been cited for a hit-and-run crash that injured a bicyclist on Sunday evening.

Cambridge police said Ryan Callinan, 28, of Wilmington, has been cited with leaving the scene of a personal injury and operating to endanger. The department said an arraignment date has not yet been scheduled and that Callinan, a patrol officer for the department since 2011, will remain on administrative leave in the meantime.

“The Cambridge Police Department takes all allegations of misconduct seriously,’’ Commissioner Robert Haas said in a statement. “We will continue to work closely with our partners at the District Attorney’s Office and State Police to ensure that a comprehensive, fair and balanced investigation is conducted into this matter.’’
