16-year-old fatally stabbed in Dorchester

Dina Rudick / The Boston Globe

A 16-year-old male from Boston died Sunday at a local hospital after police found him suffering from stab wounds in Dorchester that afternoon, according to police.

Police responded to a call shortly after 4:30 p.m. of a person shot in the area of Columbia Road and Devon Street. After the teen was transported to the hospital, it was determined that he had been stabbed, not shot, police said.

Police said they have identified a “person of interest’’ wanted in connection to the stabbing but that no formal charges had been filed as of Sunday night.
